I did a lot of procrastinating in the weekend. I cleaned profusely, watched TV and played outside with the girls - then I finally made it to the studio and started playing around with different materials thinking about recycling and repurposing. I have a real dislike for plastic bags and often think about re-using them. Fusing the bags make a strong sturdy and interesting fabric like material.

And...I Love playing with vintage beads.

Enjoy your day!

Hello Kara. My attempts at fusing plastic bags have not been successful. Melted and toxic smelling plastic is what i get. Do you use fusible material in between! The idea to make earrings with them is beautiful!

Hi Teri,

I have only just started playing around with plastic bags and find they create a really sturdy waterproof fabric. I place them in between wax paper, 8 - 10 folds is best but the thicker the better you also need good ventilation and possibly a mask : )
